HOMEOPATHY – Benefits of Homeopathic Medicines
Ever rising number of homeopaths is a living testimony to the very fact that more and more people have, though of late, developed interest and faith in this therapy. Lack of its popularity can be attributed to a slander campaign carried out, overtly or covertly, by vested interests who always drew sadistic pleasure by way of denunciation of all the medical sciences which has cared to take into account mental and physical aspects of a patient.

It is not the disease of a person that is treated but his whole personality of a person is screened as it were. Most of the persons who are illiterate can practise allopathy, but to be homeopath, one must have requisite capability and proper understanding, fairly high level of knowledge to comprehend and assimilate its philosophy and drug pictures.
The stalwarts of homeopathic system of medicines tested and experimented bulk of the drugs on their persons, thus, often subjecting themselves to dangerous symptoms which formed basis of its Materia Medica. This system is unique in so far as it treats a person later, but his mind first on the very tacit conviction that mind drives the body. If mind is diseased, the body can not remain in affected from the former’s fallout ravages.
A sound mind in a sound body is an old adage but the fact is that an ailing mind casts its shadow on body which in turn, exhibits certain symptoms which, are termed as disease, for a disease has no existence independent of the symptoms.
This is not a science of mass symptoms and no single medicine can be prescribed to two or more persons, even if the symptoms agree. Symptom is an outward, visible manifestation of a diseased state-an unhealthy state. Any disorder that surfaces first of all impacts the mind which, in turn, percolates the same to body, after the former has exhausted its power to bear and sustain the initial reaction.
Disease, then, is a manifest form of mental symptoms; hence both the entities cannot be separated or viewed with in an isolation. So, if you want to have a disease free body, first of all free the mind from tension, stress and strain. When the mind has been cured, the objective symptoms of the body will show a declining, trend, ultimately paving the way for a perfect and complete cure.
Homeo theory is based on certain established principles which are necessary to follow, if a lasting cure is desired and aimed at. Following points will clear our view-point:
All perons, even if living under the same environs, will show different reactions to and particular situation whether its origin lies in mental or physical spheres.
It is not necessary that all persons would derive the same benefit, when all things are equal. It would be more appropriate to say that some of them may recover fully, others may show slight improvement, some may have their symptoms worsened and the rest may not react, at all.
Habits, complexion, sex, family history, likes and dislikes, timings of aggravation and amelioration, weather conditions, eating habits of a patient, his mental state, desires and aversions, etc. are some of the factors which help a doctor to select the most suitable remedy. To elect all the requisite and desired information, the doctor’s skill, tact and experience are on the test. The patient, on his part, should ensure that he speaks our truth and relates his problems in his own language, without burdening his averments with technical terms or still worse to exhibit his (shallow or half-baked) knowledge.
Homeopathy treats man as a whole and not his symptoms alone. In an emergency, certain snap-shot treatments are necessary because in acute and near-terminal cases, the chief aim is to save life of the patient who should be given medicines, without any delay, to mollify his agitation, to calm down his agitated nerves and induce sound sleep. In bleeding cases, all efforts should be made to stop loss of bleeding in the shortest possible time. Cases of infants, pregnant ladies, respiratory and cardiac disorders need immediate attention and emergency treatment. If not manageable, the patient should be deported to a nearby hospital. Any dilatory and vascillatory or casual approach may endanger existence of the patient.
