Himalayan Yoga Association is organising every month 6 days yoga retreat in Rishikesh & Himalayas (chopta). Chopta is a small village in uttarakhand (India) which is also known as mini Switzerland with an altitude of 4000 meters (13000 ft) above sea level.
Chopta village is surrounded by decidious forest of pine, deodar and rhododendron is rich in flora, fauna include rare species of birds and musk deer. Chopta is also part of kedarnath wild-life sanctuary located in uttarakhand an state of india. It is also a base for trekking to tungnath (temple) & chandrashila peak.
Tungnath is the highest temple of the Lord shiva in grahwal. Where from one can see clear view of the most prominent peaks such as panchchuli (6940 m), Nanda devi (7816 m), Nilkanth kedarnath (6596 m).
Nanda devi is the second highest mountain in India and the highest located entirely with the country. It is also 23rd highest peak in the world.
The submit chandrashila peak provides a breath-taking 360 degree view which is unlike than other ordinary mountains view. During the winter months due to the snowfall chandrashila & tungnath temple are covered with snow which is the best time to experience the true beauty of nature.
Chopta is simply accessible from rishikesh by car. It takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach chopta. Morning sun-rise and chirping of birds, cool healthy breeze, hot cup of tea and rays of the sun kissing the snow leden of Himalayas present enchanting view which is absolute beauty.
After breakfast in Association (Rishikesh) we meet our guide and transfer to Ukhimath via Devprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi and Rudraprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini River). Arrival at Ukhimath by evening. Check into hotel, dinner, chanting/meditation and overnight stay. Ukhimath (1370 mts / 4500 ft) is on the other side of the Mandakini River Valley from Guptkashi a relatively short steep walk. Ukhimath is the winter seat of Kedarnath, as well as the winter home of the priest who is appointed for the worship. After the Kedarnath temple closes for the winter, a movable image of Kedarnath is brought in procession to Ukhimath, where it resides until the Kedarnath temple reopens in late April or early May.
In the morning 6:00 to 7:00 Am yoga class then we trek to Chopta through dense forest and meadows. It’s a 9km trek. Upon arrival at Chopta we set out your tents for overnight stay. In the evening explore the magnificent view of the Himalayas, 6:00 to 7:00 Pm meditation class, 7:30 pm- dinners, 8:30 Pm- lights off.
6:00 to 7:00 Am yoga therefore an early breakfast, drive back to Association after some rest, 8:00 Pm group dinner and celebration at Association on the successful completion of chopta trek.
In the early morning you can see snow-capped Himalayan ranges. 6:00 to 8:00 Am yoga class therefore breakfast at 8:30 Am then we start trek to Deoria Tal through the dense forest of Rhododendron along with wild flowers and ferns. The trek will take 3- 4 hrs. Upon arrival at Deoria Tal we set out the tents for overnight stay then before dinner 6:00 to 7:00 Pm meditation class, 7:30 Pm Dinner, 8:30 Pm- lights off.
6:00 to 7:00 Am yoga class After an early breakfast trek to Tungnath with packed lunch. Tungnath is situated at the height of 3680mts above the sea level. The trek is 3kms upward and en-route you will find lush green meadows. You can witness a wide range of snow capped Himalayas. Upon arriving, pay a visit to Tungnath Temple. After resting for a while, you can head out for Chandrashila peak, which is a kilometer away from Tungnath. Later trek back to Chopta for dinner and overnight stay.
8:30 Group breakfast & 12:00 Pm farewell of the group.

Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the Plains, take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitude.
Pay heed to the trek leader or instructor in order to enjoy a safe & sound trekking experience.
Do not consume alcohol or any other intoxicants during the trek.
Avoid trekking during the nights.
Before under-taking the trek, consult a physician.
Carry basic medications and first-aid kit during the trek.
The trek takes place through eco-friendly zone, do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.
Medical report of physical fitness approved by certified physician.
An advance fees will not be refundable, only in the case of emergency participants can join us on other schedules.
