About The Course


Should i bring my own towel, bed sheet, pillow cover ?

We provide all these things in our rooms and do change weekly, we keep cleaning in priority but as it is yoga ashram – we need understand things circulate here to everyone – we keep things washed and clean but still if you are only comfortable in your own items then we suggest you to carry these things with you.


Do we have laundry services available at ashram ?

Yes we have laundry services available in the ashram. 


How many students are there in the YTT classes/courses?

We accept 25 to 30 students in each course of YTT.


What is dress code for the yoga class?

Comfortable yoga clothes that helps into the daily yoga practices. 


Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?

Yoga mat’s are available in our ashram, we keep them clean but those are for everyone but if you don’t want to use other mats we suggest you to bring your know mat. 


I’m pregnant can I attend to the course?

No, the course is too intense for pregnant women to complete.

When do we have free time?

You’ll have some break time after lunch for few hours for rest- Sundays are free days as there is no classes so you’ll have time to discover best local area’s to visit. 


If want to skip class am I able to do that?

In case of emergency yes – such as if you feel any physical or mental weakness you can update management in prior to take a day off or skipping the class for the rest time. 


Can I attend to the same course with my partner?

Yes, it is possible to attend the TTC with your partner.


I tried yoga just few times. Will it be too advanced for me to attend the TTC?

The YTTC are suitable for everyone as we committed to teach you from the very root of yoga through all aspects, so experience are not necessary and we need an interest for yoga practices for the better understand about life ( Healthy and peaceful life)


Will language be my barrier as English is not my first language?

No, all students are coming from different parts of the world, so English are most likely second language of them. The courses are easily understandable and teachers will help you in anything to have the best learning experience. 

Do I have to read any books?

There are few book’s you can go through for the better understanding about yoga practices ( List is below) but we do provide our own Himalayan Yoga Association course book to the students when they join us for the courses-

Arrival & Departure –

In order to attend the orientation program, you should arrive at school a day before, On Day 1 at 3:00 pm we will have an opening ceremony & orientation ceremony, Classes will start from day 2 from morning- On the second last day of the course, graduation ceremony takes place at 3:00 pm evening and it finishes by 7:00 pm, therefore, departure should be planned next day before 12:00 pm afternoon if anybody wants to stay after the course must inform management in advance.  

 

Certification

 

How can I become a certified yoga teacher or yoga instructor?

To become a certified yoga teacher, you must successfully complete a yoga teacher training course and show competence in your ability to teach a yoga class. Find out what the suggested minimum requirements for yoga teachers are at: www.yogaalliance.org. The yoga alliance page also lists training programs and yoga schools that meet their minimum standards.

Is your school registered with Yoga Alliance? Is your yoga teacher training certificate valid internationally?

Do I need to pass any exams in order to complete the course?

Yes, you’ll have to pass a written and a verbal exams. The decision will be based by your performance, attendance and behaviour.

Will I be able to teach with this certificate in other parts of the world?

Yes, our courses are qualified by Yoga Alliance After registration on the website you’ll be able to teach in any part of the world.

 

General question

 

Which kind of visa do I need to apply for?

Students should apply for tourist visa as it is easy and granted from indian embassy shortly, purpose of visit in india should be yoga retreat or ayurveda retreats. Students may give our school address as well as contact number as an indian reference. Contact details of Indian embassy in your country can be found. In general, visa expiry date is counted from the day visa is issued. Please verify it with the concerned embassy. What should I bring with myself?

Most of the general items you will need during your stay in India (or their equivalent) can be easily found in the nearby shops around the corner from our yoga school.

 

Location & Transportation

 

How can I reach Rishikesh from Delhi and how much does it cost?

Delhi airport to Rishikesh by car is a 6 hours journey. We have a transportation package for both sides US$ 140 which will cover your airport pick-up from Delhi to Rishikesh (by car) and after completion of the course tra nsfer back from Rishikesh to Delhi.

One way from Delhi airport to Rishikesh is availed for US$ 75.

Is it safe to travel alone to Rishikesh?

Yes, it is safe to travel alone to Rishikesh, many tourist does it if you are never been to India before as its very different from other parts of the world.

Will you handle travel arrangements for me once I arrive in India?

Yes, with advanced notice we will arrange transportation for you to Rishikesh directly from the airport, bus or train station. Upon arriving in Rishikesh we will help you with directions for walking a short distance to our school.

 

Food & Accommodation

 

I am vegan. Does the food your serving are suitable for vegans?

Food provided at our center is 100% vegetarian and vegan. 

Is there clean drinking water at the school?

Yes rishikesh is the mountains area located in the bank of the river -water is very clean her and there is pure filtered water available for students 24/7, free of charge in the ashram. 

Can we use phones at the school?

Yes, when you are not at your classes you are free to use cell-phone.

Do you have available air conditional AC at the school during summer month?

Our Yoga shala’s have AC’s but we don’t provide in the rooms because it is not needed- it is not too hot in the rooms because we are surrounded by mountains and river ganga

Health & Security

 

I’m taking medications. I’ll be able to get it in India?

Yes, India hospitals has the same facilities as Western countries, might be not the same brand, but you’ll be able to get it here as well.

What if I get sick during my course?

If you are sick, injured or in need of medical assistance, we will provide you with medical care or take you to a western-style hospital (whichever option is needed). And in this case we will find alternatives for you in order to be able to finish the course.

Vaccinations?

Any particular vaccination is not required. 

Do I have to be careful about eating food in India?

We have taken extra precautions by hiring a dedicated staff to prepare each and every meal at the school from fresh ingredients. Eating outside of school is pretty safe in the restaurants at Rishikesh. If your stomach is sensitive, you should beware of eating street foods.
