Namaste my name is kirti and on behalf of himalayan yoga association i welcome you all to this online teacher training course i am a teacher here at himalayan yoga association and i will be taking you through the concepts and details of the human body and yoga altogether let’s hope you enjoy this course

let’s start namaste and welcome back to the online yoga teacher training course in today’s video we are going to discuss the circulatory system or the cardiovascular system but before we go ahead and do that

we are going to chant the gyatri mantra like how we always do before the beginning of every class so simply sit straight with your spine completely erect roll your shoulders to the back tilt your head back in line with the spine activate any mudra using your hands and finally close your eyes to observe your breath for a few

moments surrender yourself to the observance of your breath and allow these few minutes to be the most private and personal moments that you spend with yourself allow yourself to immerse in the sensations of the breath instead of giving in to the thoughts that come into your mind after a few calming breaths gently bring your hands in front of your chest in

namaskara city touch the heart center with the back of your thumbs and while keeping your eyes closed let’s generate a feeling of gratitude in our heart as we turned the gayatri mantra if you know the mantra you can chant it with me otherwise you can always repeat it afterwards so breathe in having absorbed the vibration and effect of the mantra

let’s generate some energy between our hands by rubbing our palms against each other do not open your eyes still and finally once you feel the energy you can transfer this energy to your eyes by covering them with your palms massage your face and you can transfer this energy to any other part of your body wherever you wish to transfer this energy to once again

before you open your eyes fold your palms bow down to the universal truth and with a few blinks come back open your eyes welcome back so welcome back um the entire cardiovascular system or the circulatory system is basically the system which is responsible for connecting the entire human body or the various organ systems to each other

if we talk about the endocrine system then the endocrine systems the glands which are associated and form the endocrine system they obviously release the chemicals the hormones whatever these plants they’re supposed to release inside the bloodstream through which it travels inside the body the blood being a portion of the circulatory system

if we talk about the nutrients the energy that we procure from digesting the food that we eat then it is also mixed up and released inside the bloodstream which travels inside the body and that is all again a part of the cardiovascular system if we talk about the oxygen

that we procure from inhalations during the time of respiration it is released inside the bloodstream and it is these uh the cardiovascular system which is responsible of transferring the oxygen to various cells inside the human body traveling through the blood itself so the cardiovascular system of course is one of the most vital aspects of human existence there is so much going on when we talk about the cardiovascular system

the cardiovascular system can be broken down into three portions one of them is the heart which is the most important organ in a way inside the human body every organ is vital every organ is important but at the same time i personally think that if the heart stops working then that results in immediate death well

if there is problems associated with the other organs inside the human body then i think then they can still sustain human existence or the human can stay alive for at least for a few moments in the worst case scenario and much longer otherwise but personally that’s just my personal opinion the other portion of the cardiovascular system is the blood vessels

which transport blood to various parts of the body these blood vessels can be broken down and further bifurcated into various categories various small small categories depending upon the size depending upon the organs that they’re connected to but in principle they’re all blood vessels with the role of transferring of blood either from the heart to the other organs or the other parts of the body or from

the other parts of the body to the heart itself they all are one way or the other considered as blood vessels and lastly and most importantly the most um balancing factor in this case or for the cardiovascular system is the blood itself um

let’s talk about the heart first and then i’m going to discuss the rest of these things with you the heart is again a specialized unit in itself if you remember the different types of muscles that we discussed in anatomy before then the human body has different types of muscles one is the voluntary muscles or the striated muscles uh the muscles

that you can control the muscles responsible for movement of the human body one is the involuntary muscles or the visceral muscles the non-striated muscles the muscles which are forming all the internal organs of the body these are the muscles that you cannot control by simply thinking about them they’re not responsible for movement but they’re responsible for vital functioning of the various organs in the human body
