Shatkarmas & it's Types-Himalayan Yoga Association
Shatkarmas & it’s Types Shatkarmas are various practices for the purification of the body to keep it strong and clean. There are six kinds of Shatkarma practices that are used to remove toxins from our body which might be blocking the flow of ‘Prana’. Practicing Shatkarmas helps in preparing our body for meditation and Pranayamas so we can perform them without any discomfort or distractions. These techniques should only be learned from a teacher and practiced under their guidance. Doing the Shatkarmas regularly will not allow toxins to get deposited in our body. There are six Shatkarmas and we will discuss each one in detail below: 1     Neti – It is a cleansing process of nasal passages as well as the sinuses. There are two types of this Shatkarma:

Chakras in the Human body-Himalayan Yoga Association
Chakras in the Human Body. The Sanskrit word ‘Chakra’ means wheel or disk. Chakras are certain energetic focal points in our body which stores the energy associated with our memories, feelings, thoughts, experiences and actions. There are seven chakras along the spinal column starting from the base of it till the top of our forehead. These are energy disks which cannot be seen by the eye but can be felt by our inner-eye or intuition. The chakras correspond to nerve centres in our body. Starting from the base of the spine and moving upwards the seven chakras are as follows: 1     Muladhara or Root chakra – This is the first chakra and it is associated with stability, security and our basic needs. The lower three vertebrae of our spine,

Panch-Koshas- Himalayan Yoga Association
Pancha-Koshas Pancha means five and Kosha means sheath in English. Panchakosha is hence the system of five layers underneath which is our soul or the ‘atman’. The impurities of these five layers or panchakosha is what keeps us from seeing our true soul. Yoga can thus help in removing these impurities so that we can be re-introduced with our ‘atman’. With yoga we can gain control over these koshas so that our judgement is not clouded by them and hence we can clearly see our true self and our soul in order to be on our path of liberation or moksha. The panchakoshas are as follows: 1   Annamaya Kosha – This kosha is made up of food. Anna means food. This kosha is physical in nature as our body is

Deepest longing in Life
My deepest desire in life is to reach a state of peace within myself. To be able to make amends with mistakes I have made in the past and forgive myself and only try to keep improving. After struggling with an eating disorder for so long, I realize now that bottom line I just was in turmoil with myself constantly and was self-sabotaging myself because I was ashamed and didn’t love myself. I think my deepest desire is to continue to love myself and my life and even my past self more and more every day and in addition use all of my past experiences as lessons for my future self as I continue to grow.   Top Related Post Factors That Cause Diseases Human Personality Mindset Types (Three Gunas)
