Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Spain
Explore the calming and healing practice of Yin Yoga with Himalayan Yoga Association’s 50 Hour Teacher Training in Spain. This short and impactful course is ideal for anyone seeking relaxation, stress relief, or better flexibility and recovery.
Yin Yoga involves slow, long-held poses that work deep into the body’s connective tissues-ligaments, tendons, and fascia. It helps bring clarity, balance, and peace in today’s fast-moving world, making it perfect for those with active lifestyles.
During the training, you will learn how to support each posture using props like blocks and bolsters. Our approach blends traditional Chinese medicine and yoga philosophy with modern techniques, making the practice safe and effective for all body types.
This course provides valuable tools to teach Yin Yoga or simply enhance your personal journey. Held in the natural beauty of Spain, the program offers the ideal space to pause and reconnect. Optional Reiki and sound healing sessions are also available during free time, for added relaxation and full-body rejuvenation.
The History of Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga originates from ancient Taoist principles in China, where the philosophy of Yin and Yang originated. This idea is behind so much of Chinese culture, medicine, and spiritualism. In Taoist practice, the two forces that are found in everything are Yin and Yang. Yin is associated with stillness, passivity, darkness, and receptivity: the moon, the night, earth, femininity; In contrast to Yin, Yang is the action, creation, light and heat, symbolized by the sun, day, sky, and the male sex. The coordination of these forces is as follows; Coordinate balance of the nature, body and the mind.Indeed, today’s versions of yoga including Vinyasa and Ashtanga are more on the active side, where movement and muscle contractions are involved, while Yin Yoga is more passive in that it encourages stillness. It targets the fascial system of ligaments, tendons and fascia, keeping one in a pose for 3-5 min or more to touch the less accessible aspects of the self.
Yin Yoga also has TCM which identifies channels called meridians associated with organs, sensations, and emotions. Yin Yoga postures bear pressure on these channels in order to control the energy and therefore offer a complete body health.
As the body and the energy are concentrated, Yin Yoga is the ideal practice for the present high-energy, Yang lifestyle. It enables practitioners to reconnect to stillness, to observing life from the present – indeed, a profoundly timely idea that is timeless. Acquire the knowledge of Yin Yoga, and skills as a Yin Yoga Teacher with our 50 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Spain.

Each time you practice asana or pranayama, your capacity to control your focus, breath, and body increases. Likewise, as you dive deeper into the yoga philosophy, you will find yourself eating, sleeping, and thinking like a yogi! And when it comes to eating, diet certainly plays a significant role. Food is an important element and life-giving energy to the human body. The quality and type of food impact our physical, as well as mental well-being.
Let’s see nutrition from the yogic perspective. It includes much more than just the nutritional content of the food. As a full-fledged yogic practice demands a proper supplementation of the body with nutrients, the energetic aspect of nutrition should also be taken into consideration.
Meat or no meat?
The dilemma Many yogis face this question. As you may have heard already, many yoga practitioners start to feel that they don’t feel right anymore to consume non-vegetarian food.
What is the correct yogic diet (Sattvic Diet)?
Have you ever observed the impact of the food intake on your yoga practice? Some foods can wreck the harmony in ourselves as some certain foods creating bloating or digestion disorders. On the other hand, there are also some foods that are more subtle and suitable to the body and mind.
The concept of Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, enlightens us on the impact of different foods on our overall physical, spiritual, and mental well-being. As per Ayurveda, “Sattva” denotes purity in quality of self-control and spiritual well-being as apparent in the form of intelligence, virtue, awareness, and happiness. Thus foods that are sattvic, promote purity in terms of both mind and body. They help nurture the mind – one that is clear, filled with compassion and keeps calm.
Following Sattvic diet
The good news for yogis is that Sattvic foods are absolutely vegetarian! Thus no animals are harmed in the making of such foods as they do not contain any animal products. These foods should be naturally cultivated and should not include any harmful preservatives, additive substances or artificial flavors.
What is Sattvic diet consist of?
Sattvic diet generally includes:
- Fresh, organically grown fruits and vegetables
- Nuts and whole grains
- Dairy – based foods example ghee (clarified butter) and milk
- Lentils
- Beans
- Oils that are plant-based
- Foods with mild sweetness containing natural and unrefined sugars

Yogi Tanmay
His story with yoga began early—watching his father practice with sages and live by the quiet strength of Karma Yoga. Those moments were planting seeds in him. Years later, during the stillness of the pandemic, something awakened. He felt a strong pull inward and chose to follow that call. He enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Yoga Science at the University of Patanjali. For three years, he dove deep into asana, philosophy, and discipline—and something inside him transformed but his curiosity didn't end there. That led me to the Himalayas, where he studied Yoga Therapy. There, he saw how traditional yogic wisdom could meet modern medicine in beautiful, meaningful ways.
He traveled to Tuscany to learn Yin & Yang Yoga—experiencing the power of stillness and flow. He also explored Sound Healing and other subtle therapies, discovering how vibration and energy can shift the body and mind in profound ways. Yoga has been his path of remembering—of coming home to himself. And as he stands here today, he says he feels honoured to share that journey with all of you.
