When it comes to practicing Yoga, a lot depends on your mindset. People are aware of the fact that Yoga has solutions to most of their day-to-day problems but the fix is, not many actually make the move to start practising it. The willingness to learn should always come from within, therefore no amount of motivation from our peers can actually get you there unless you’re self-motivated. If you find yourself among one of those who are yet to figure out, if you are ready to practice Yoga, worry not because we have a list of things for you that will help you to get an outline before joining the Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh.
Just to give you a brief, Yoga allows you to have a clear mind and gives your body the much needed time to relax. There are some forms of Yoga which are difficult at first but with proper dedication and practice, one can get the best results out of it. It will always be a learning curve if you’re a beginner. It can get awkward sometimes as there are various asanas that are challenging but definitely fulfilling in the end.
The following are some of the things that you should know before joining the Yoga teacher training in Rishikesh:
1) Ideal clothes and Accessories
Firstly, it is a misconception amongst the students who come to learn Yoga that you should have all the fancy stuff like top, Yoga pants and other things. What we would like to tell our students is, you should go for clothes that are comfortable which allow you to move freely without putting in any effort. Depending on the form of Yoga you can either invest in a good Yoga Mat which will be helpful in the long run.
2) Eat the rights things
When practising Yoga it is important to keep a check on what you consume. It is strictly advanced to have vegetarian food s that the digestion process works smoothly. You should leave a gap of 2 or more hours before your last meal so that you don’t face any problems while performing various asanas. The most important point which you should keep in mind is to avoid junk food.
3) The beginning is tough, Do not quit!
Many of our students face difficulty at the beginning of the Yoga teacher training program. It is during this period that one should understand that giving up is not a choice. The initial stage is always going to be difficult as the body is not used to such training, but as time goes one, with proper practice, things will start falling into place and the results will speak for itself.
4) Get yourself some ‘me time’
You should understand the fact that it’s your decision to learn Yoga and it’s your mind and body that requires relaxation. You have actually taken out time from your busy schedule to practice this art and it is necessary that you get some time for yourself which allows you to recharge.
5) Have Patience, Results will follow
Results are something which is not in our hands but if you follow the process and are dedicated to the task you will start noticing the results sooner than later.
