Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course

Pregnancy is one of the most sacred journeys a woman will ever undertake; beautiful, transformative, and deeply sensitive. Yet, studies suggest that fewer than 1 in 10 pregnant women incorporate any structured physical movement, such as yoga, into their prenatal or postnatal routine. This gap doesn't just affect the mother's well-being; it quietly impacts the development and energy of the child being brought into this world.

At Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh, we recognised this gap and felt a deep responsibility to bridge it. This is the reason we developed our specialised Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course, a course that will provide yoga teachers, health care professionals, and loving mothers with the skills and the confidence to help women safely through all stages of pregnancy and motherhood. In order to give birth, one has to nurture. And the one who nurtures must be given strength.

What is a Prenatal Yoga Training Course?

Prenatal yoga is a mindful, carefully adapted yoga practice performed during pregnancy. It celebrates the miraculous change which occurs in the body and mind of a woman and prepares her to have a more conscious and easier delivery. Prenatal yoga concentrates on the development of strength, flexibility and emotional stability, and minimizes anxiety, back aches and exhaustion that are often experienced during pregnancy.

Our prenatal yoga training program at Himalayan Yoga Association is carefully designed to meet the special physical and emotional needs of pregnant women in each phase of their pregnancy, the first trimester up to the last trimester before delivery.

What is a Postnatal Yoga Training Course?

Once the baby arrives, the journey for a mother doesn't slow down, it deepens. The postnatal period is associated with a new set of physical and emotional challenges: hormonal changes, pelvic floor healing, exhaustion, and the emotional burden of a new motherhood.

Postnatal yoga education will help mums to regain their bodies and mind in a natural manner. It is designed to regain core strength, recover the pelvis, eliminate postpartum anxiety and build the inner power to care about herself and her baby. Postnatal yoga is not merely physical healing, but spiritual home.

    Meditation and Wellness
Divyangana Kothari is a yoga instructor, meditation guide, and wellness researcher from Rishikesh, India, known for her warmth, sincerity, and a deeply lived commitment to the yogic path. Her journey with yoga began not as a career plan, but as a genuine seeking, a quiet inner call to understand the deeper relationship between body, breath, and soul.

With a strong foundation in traditional Ashtanga Yoga, she has spent the last several years not just practicing but truly living and sharing her teachings on Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga Nidra, guiding students toward stillness, self-awareness, and deep rest. Having lived and worked in Germany, she has walked alongside people from vastly different backgrounds and found that beneath every difference, the longing for inner peace is the same. Fluent in English, Hindi, and German, she meets each student exactly where they are.

Having come from the corporate IT world herself, she carries a lived understanding of modern stress and disconnection and it is precisely this that deepens her compassion for the people she serves.

She comes to this work with humility, devotion, and a genuine love for every soul she walks alongside on the path inward.
