Yoga Saved My Life | Yoga School in Rishikesh India. Our teacher shares how yoga saved his life from a serious illness.
Namaste to everyone, I am Deepak from Rishikesh, and today I am here at Himalayan Yoga Association. In this video, I will talk about my yoga journey. So starting with how I started yoga. As I am an Indian, in Indian schools when we go to the schools, most of the schools we have a class like sometimes it’s like a yoga class sometimes it’s like a PT class. I also had during my school time, a yoga class three to four times a week. So we were practicing at the time, but not in a deep way, just kind of a fun. We were like to do and we were doing sometimes the practice. And at the same time, when when I reach at high school, I choose a subject like the Sanskrit as a like you can say the language to learn. I learned that Sanskrit language five years during my school time. And that’s also you can say coincidence. Just I choose and then I learn. After that, like yoga, I did sometimes on and off, on and off. But in 2015, some incident happened, like ideally, if I say like what happened, I admitted it to in a hospital and at the time it was kind of a serious thing happened in the life. Before that I was like very happy and very kind of relaxing kid always. But during that time, it was kind of a depressive moment of the life. I was like so surprised when I got admit in the hospital some kind of the sickness happened, kind of very serious sickness and then in 2015 when I came out from the hospital so I visit Rishikesh.
It was for a few days only, then I have to go back again to the hometown for studying another things. And in 2017, I again come back to Rishikesh. And after that, I didn’t go back. In 2017, I come here, I did my 500 hours TTC, and after that I did the masters also. From there, I start teaching in the different, different like schools also at that time. And then I was keep learning and keep sharing whatever we experienced through our practices. Like in the beginning, before I start the yoga, like mentally I was like happy, you can say, but physically, or you can say on the spiritual level, I was not as much as strong as I feel now. Like physically as well as mentally, I am like feeling much better or you can say much stable as compared to before after doing that some years of practice. And it’s like continuously increasing increasing on the physical level on the mental level, as well as on spiritual level, every day, every day, something more something more we experience. So, like generally we think like, yoga is only for the flexible people, yoga is only for those who start in the young age, in the old age we cannot do or if anyone is sick who cannot do but try to like understand and try to see the people who start since when, when nobody can feel like okay they can start.
If you are breathing, if you are alive, you can start yoga. And yoga is not only like doing this thing, this thing, bending the back, moving the spine, balancing on the hands, or this or that. There are many other things also in the yoga But it’s okay if you will do the practice of yoga you will be more physically stable You will be more like have the more physical strength More mental stillness in your like mind as well as you will be more spiritual person at the time You will find love peace and happiness around you you can easily see those things around you and you can experience those things if you will practice yoga. So like try to practice yoga as much as comfortable for you. You can start since zero. It’s fine.
Try to do a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, and then you will see the growth within you. You can experience those things. And also like right now we are teaching here Himalayan Yoga Association and I am very happy to be a part of this family. I would like to continue as much as I can, and share my experience through the teachings. Also, it will be the good time to see the good people like you because the world is very beautiful. When you are or at any particular situation you are, you try to give a chance to yoga. Try to make a lifestyle, a yogic lifestyle and try to follow it. Maybe you cannot follow for long time, try to give one week, try to give one month to that yogic lifestyle. And then you will see the changes in your life. You can see the amazing changes in your life. Like before I was not believing in the spiritual things when I was a kid because sometimes the parents say go to the temple, maybe with them I like to go or I believe in God or God does something like this. But when you experience the things then you will see like those kind of the things exist. Maybe not a same point of view, maybe in a different point of view of you, but you can experience the truth. Also again, some people can say, no, we don’t want to know the truth. We don’t believe in the God. That’s also normal. But whenever you follow the yogic lifestyle, at that time, your level of the life, the experience of life increase.Hhow you see the life, how you experience the life. So that start to change. You can enjoy more physically, you can enjoy more mental level. Also, you can be more enjoyable on the spiritual level you can see the things around you which will be more peaceful, more loveable and more enjoyable. You can live this life beautifully and happily so I will just request you try to enjoy this yogic lifestyle if you are already in the yoga. If you are not in yoga, try to give a chance to this yoga lifestyle and I hope you will never be upset. So thank you very much. Namaste.
