200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course Rishikesh - Student Review Jesica
My name is Jessica and I have just finished the 200 hour yoga teacher training programme at Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh. This experience really changed me in a manner that I never expected, and now I am proud to call myself a certified yoga teacher. It has been a life-altering experience and I would like to elaborate my genuine thoughts regarding what made this specific school special among the numerous alternatives that exist in this yoga capital of the world.
The programme was designed on seven different subjects, which formed a balanced learning experience covering both the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga. I was most impressed by the fact that there was an equal balance between the theoretical and practical application. We did not only train on the mat, we explored deep into the ancient wisdom on which the philosophy of yoga is based.
The physical classes have exposed me to different forms of yoga that I was yet to experience. All styles created a new outlook and advantages to my perception of this ancient procedure and broadened my vision of it much more than I imagined it. These physical practices were beautifully supported by the theoretical sessions, which allowed me to learn more about the meaning and the purpose of each movement, breathing, and meditation practice.
The only difference that makes this school of yoga unique is that they understand the student wellbeing to go way beyond the classroom. We had the day off on every Sunday and the school arranged considerate excursions that helped us to go through the beautiful natural scenery around Rishikesh. The most memorable moments were the sunrise mountain tour. Sightseeing the sun colour the Himalayan mountains with its golden colour and enjoying a quiet breakfast with my fellow learners brought a feeling of connectedness and calmness which were the ideal definition of the yogic way of life.
Another option to be able to immerse in nature and to be inspired by the stunning nature that makes Rishikesh so unique was to visit nearby waterfalls as a part of the study process. These field trips were not mere recreational trips; they were continuations of our education, which taught us to seek mindfulness and be present anywhere.
Building Community Through Shared Experiences
The school had different events during weekdays that would bring about true relations amongst students. Movie nights also were bonding and relaxing, and they were held after hard days of training. The cooking classes were especially fun, as we learned how to make healthy and sattvic food besides sharing experiences and laughing in the kitchen. Such instances of bonding formed long term friendships with globally based people.
There is also a pool in the facility which was our refuge during our free time. Once the practise sessions were tough, it was possible to cool down in the water, which was not only physically refreshing, but also mentally rejuvenating. These otherwise basic facilities came as a great relief in our general experience, and served to keep us balanced in the midst of the high-level training.
Exceptional Teaching and Genuine Care
Probably the best thing about Himalayan Yoga Ashram is its quality of teaching that makes it stand out among other schools. The educators not only teach yogic principles, but they are actually enthusiastic to impart knowledge to others. They have years of experience in teaching the traditions of yoga. They present complicated ideas in a manner that is easily comprehensible to the audience without overlooking the ancient history of yoga.
Other than their way of teaching, what unique and impressive I felt about them was the level of interest the whole teaching staff showed regarding the journey of every student. I felt welcome and encouraged from the moment I arrived. The teachers and staff did much more than expected to get everyone made to feel comfortable, comprehend what was being taught, and had what they required to succeed. This kind of personal attention and care creates a motherly atmosphere in which genuine learning may thrive.
A Recommendation from the Heart
Reflecting on the experience, I can definitely say that one of the most significant choices I have ever made was to complete my yoga teacher training at this school. Yes it was challenging. Yes it pushed me to my limits. But it was certainly worth all the strain and all the sweat, all the tears wept on the way.
Himalayan Yoga Ashram is my personal recommendation with regard to yoga teacher training in Rishikesh. Curriculum and tenured teachers, community support and attention to the wellbeing of the students all combine to form a scenario in which transformation is not only possible, but unavoidable. This school does not merely prepare you to be a yoga teacher; it aids you to internalise the value of yoga in your day to day life that a wave of good change is felt that stretches way beyond the mat.
