Just observe the vibrations join both the palms together and rub both the palms keep them on your eyes very slowly while blinking and looking at your palms begin to open up your eyes start coming back to the smile and namaste to everyone let us begin today’s session

so i would like to welcome All of you to Himalayan Yoga Association I’m Yogini Saumya and i will be taking today’s session so today we are discussing the mantra Om Namah Shivay right this is a very very famous Mantra Specially In India right and today we are just going to talk about the meaning and why this mantra is important right so this is a very powerful

mantra right and as you can see It’s a very sharp mantra right so in less words you get more vibrations right so let’s come to the meaning directly so Om Namah Shivay right this means you are bowing down to lord shiva right so Om this term you know means what the first sound right Om is the first

sound out of which everything you see around you It is created by this sound right it exist all around you and within you right So Om when we use Om right we are you know creating this sound because we are then creating the sound of the mantra right so this is a great way to begin any mantra you

will see Om is generally you know placed before any mantra because it is the first sound you know then Namah this word means to bow down respectfully to join your hands and bow down so you will see you know that a generally we join our hands together and we bow down whenever we want

to pay respect to someone be it any elder in your family any sort of mentor spiritual leader any kind of leader you will see or anybody who has highly respected in the society we join the hands together and we tilt our head downwards you know this is how we show our respects so Naman or

Namah means this exact action right and then Shivay right so like i told you you know Lord Shiva right he is the point of origination of yoga right he was the first yogi he practiced all forms right and then passed it down to mankind so that they could benefit out of all the procedures of yoga

so basically when you chant this mantra you are paying respect to the God who has given you this practiced right whatever practices you guys are doing these are given by someone so you are paying respect to that person right now sometimes people you know they get stuck in the gods right and

religion and it’s completely alright so what is another way of understanding this mantra right so all of us know we are created up out of the 5 elements right he wise a created out of 5 elements everything around you It’s created out of these five elements right so even science says this thing right so the various sounds in this mantra represents the 5 elements that are present

right which is the source of the formation of this universe right so Namah this is spilit into two Na and Mah right so Na this sound when you create this sound it represents your earth element okey Mah sound represents the water element see this sound represents the fire element okey Va represents Air and Ya represents aether or space

So when you chant Om Namah Shivay atleast you can pay respect to the elements that are the cause of your formation and the cause of everything you see around you right so let’s directly go into the chanting of this mantra yes so sit comfortabaly wherever you are preferably in a cross legged

position and you can gently close your eyes keep the back and neck straight take this time to just observe your natural breathe and slowly begin to deep in the breathing as you deepen the breathe just make sure that your body is stable back and neck straight and completely relaxed the mind set the

intension and just take this resolution in the mind that you will not move your body for the rest of the practice we will chant this mantra together 10 times inhale deeply for the mantra Om Namah Shivay

Om Namah Shiva Om Namah Shiva Om Namah Shiva Om Namah Shivay
Om Namah Shivay Om Namah Shivay Om Namah Shivay Om Namah Shivay

Om Namah Shivay simply observe the vibrations feel the impact of the mantra on your mind body and breathe will end today’s session with one Om and three Shanti’s Inhale deeply for Om

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti’hi

Join your palms together and rub your palms together properly place them on your eyes very slowly while blinking and looking at your palms begin to open up your eyes start coming back with the smile and namaste to everyone Thank you.
